3 Days Semliki National Park Tour is a rewarding wildlife viewing safari that will bring you to Semliki National Park, western Uganda at Bwamba in Bundibugyo district not far away from Fort portal.
Semliki national park is among Uganda’s smallest national parks and one of those least visited centers in the country. It lies just at the Uganda and The Democratic Republic of Congo border and it’s bordered by Mountain Rwenzori South East, Lake Albert in the North. The Park is situated within the western arm of The Great East African Rift Valley rising at 760m above sea level.
This Park is rich with various flora and fauna both endowed to the Albertine Rift and the Tropical rain forest climate as it’s stretched to the Ituri dense forest of The Democratic Republic of Congo. The park is endowed with evergreen tree species and swamp vegetation that are habitats to several wildlife, bird species, and over 450 butterfly species.
This is a great site for birders with over 400 bird species like large numbers of shoebills, hornbills, Sassi’s olive greenbul among others. It’s also covered by several animal species such as elephants, leopards, hippopotami, bushbucks, buffaloes, several monkeys, mongoose, baboons. It’s actually another primate watching haven in Uganda next to Kibale, with about 9 primate species.
In addition to its diversified wildlife, bird and butterfly species, Semlik Park is blessed with several other tourist attractions such as hot springs that’s the Mumbuga hot springs and Sempaya hot springs- these can cook hard-boiled eggs, the beautiful rivers of Semliki and Lamia, Lake Albert, the thick rain forest, etc.
