Detailed 1-Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Itinerary

Day 1: Pick Up, Gorilla Trekking, and Departure

This tour begins with an early morning pickup by our experienced driver-guide at 4:30AM to ensure timely arrival at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Driving to Bwindi Forest

Driving to Bwindi Forest National Park offers scenic views of the country side. As dawn breaks, you’ll observe the transformation of the landscape, with mist rising over rolling hills and the first light illuminating the lush greenery.

Upon arrival at around 7:30AM, head to the park headquarters for morning briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority park rangers on the essential guidelines and safety protocols for gorilla trekking.

Later, embark on a guided trek through the dense forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek’s duration varies based on the day’s  gorillas’ movements. Upon locating the gorillas, spend an hour observing their behaviors and interactions. This intimate encounter offers a profound connection with these gentle giants.

After the trek, have lunch and set off for the return journey to your original pickup location—Kabale, Kisoro, or Kigali accordingly. Arrival times vary based on the trek’s duration and starting point.
