Upon landing at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide, who will provide a brief overview of the exciting journey ahead. Afterward, you’ll embark on a 2-3 hour scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in the northern part of the country, near the borders of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
As you travel toward the park, you’ll pass through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside, featuring rolling hills En route, you may choose to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a moving and important historical site that offers insight into Rwanda’s tragic past and its remarkable recovery.

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing on trekking protocols, safety guidelines, and conservation efforts from experienced park rangers. You will then be assigned to a group of no more than eight people, and together with your guide, you’ll embark on the trek through the dense forests of the Virunga Mountains in search of a mountain gorilla family.
Gorilla trekking can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. The journey through the misty forest is an adventure in itself, with steep trails, thick vegetation, and the occasional glimpse of other wildlife. But the real reward comes when you finally encounter the gorillas in their natural habitat. You’ll have the chance to spend one magical hour observing these incredible primates up close—watching as they feed, play, groom each other, and interact within their family group.
After the trek, you’ll then return to your lodge for lunch and some well-deserved rest. In the afternoon, you have the option to visit the nearby Iby’wacu Cultural Village. Dine and rest at your lodge

After breakfast, you’ll be driven to twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhundo. The lakes are a peaceful retreat and offer breathtaking views of the nearby volcanoes. You can enjoy a boat ride or take a leisurely walk along the shores, taking in the serenity of the area.
Later, set off for the drive back to Kigali for drop off at a hotel or Airport to catch departure flight.
