After lunch at Amuka Lodge, continue to Murchison Falls, one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world. Your fifth day starts with an exhilarating morning tracking Uganda’s primates. After breakfast, assemble at Kanyanchu park headquarters at 7:00 AM for a briefing on the rules of chimpanzee tracking. Kibale National Park is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, and this experience provides a rare chance to observe them in their natural habitat. The trek lasts between 3-4 hours, and along the way, you may also spot other primates such as colobus monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys.
In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run conservation area that is a paradise for birdwatchers. More than 200 bird species have been recorded here, including the rare Great Blue Turaco. This natural channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is home to one of the highest concentrations of hippos in the world. During the cruise, you will have ample opportunities to view elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and various bird species, making it one of the park’s highlights.
