On this 3 Days Kidepo Valley National Park Wildlife Viewing Safari, you will be rewarded with so many great views of various wildlife species at Kidepo Valley National Park, one of Uganda’s largest national parks. The Park is an ideal place for your wildlife viewing safari due to its unspoiled beauty.
Kidepo Valley National Park is basically covered with savanna grasslands, located in the Karamoja region, Northeast of Uganda in Kitgum district. This National Park is a great site for the real African jungle wilderness; it’s still unkempt hence very adventurous to its visitors.
Actually, Kidepo Valley Park is one of Africa’s most naturally endowed national parks yet least visited tourist centers in Africa with diversified wildlife and bird species.
It harbors over 70 mammals and more than 400 bird species with so many unique species only found at the Kidepo Valley rising between the Narus and Kidpeo rivers.
Among the rare species that can be found at Kidepo Valley National Park is the elands, Burchell zebras, oribi, Jackson’s hartebeest kudu, Roth’s child giraffe among others as well as the raptor birds; there’s no other national park in Uganda where these can be found.
It’s also home to lions, cheetahs, large herds of buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, etc.
Kidepo Valley can be visited any time of the year however, the dryer seasons a much better for your wildlife viewing safari at the Narus valley as it’s at this time of the year when large numbers of game concentrate at the valleys in search for water and therefore very easy to find and hide in the wet seasons.
The best time to Visit should be December – February and June, July, to September for great wildlife views.
You can get to Kidepo Valley Park by both Road and Flight; It’s about 10 hours drive from Kampala/ Entebbe to Kidepo Valley National Park via the Kampala Gulu highway. By flights, you can directly fly to Kidepo or to Pakuba /Bugungu/Chobe (Murchison Falls NP) and later drive between 2 – 3 hours to Park.
