4 Days Gorilla Trek & Lake Kivu

4 Days Rwanda Gorillas and Lake Kivu Tour; Lake Kivu is Rwanda’s largest Fresh water lake found in Gisenyi, southwest of Rwanda.

This tour takes you to both Volcanoes National Park for mountain gorilla trekking and relaxation at the shores of Lake Kivu.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

At 7:30 AM, you will be picked up by a guide from Gorilla Safaris Consultants for a 2 hours’ road trip to Volcanoes National Park; taking you through the beautiful Kigali City with short visits to Presidential Palace, Gisozi Genocide  Memorial Site and Craft shops and market centers. Dinner and overnight at;

Budget:  Muhabura Lodge / The Garden Place Lodge

Midrange:  Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge / Davinci Gorilla Lodge

Luxury: Five Volcanoes Gorilla Lodge / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge

Super Luxury: Bisate Lodge Camp / Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge / Virunga Lodge/ Jack Hanna’s Cottages

 

Day 2: Gorilla Trek and Iby’wacu Cultural Experience

On rising, enjoy your breakfast and later report to the kinigi park offices at 7:00 AM; while here you will be briefed on the mountain gorilla trekking rules and guidelines and also allocated to your gorilla family group and also provided with the hiking gear in case you need it.

After the trek, you will have lunch and in the evening take a visit to the Iby’wacu Cultural Village for more mixing with the Rwandan Locals. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Lake Kivu

Like mountain gorilla trekking, report to the Kinigi offices for the dos and don’ts s while tracking for mountain gorillas. Embark on your search through the bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park. On meeting the gorillas, enjoy your stay with them. Later return to your lodge, have lunch and set off for Lake Kivu, driving southwest of Rwanda to Gisenyi province.

Day 4: Morning Canoe Ride and Return to Kigali

Enjoy breakfast and embark on an amazing canoe ride on Lake Kivu; taking you to Nyamirundi  Island, Rwanda’s coffee making center.

Later, hit the road back to Kiga
